On passing all elements of Year 1 of his NVQ Level 3 Coursework which MPM run in conjunction with Central Beds College in Dunstable.
As English is not his first language, Franta has had to put in special effort and complete additional modules and the Company recorded their acknowledgement of this achievement recently when he was presented with a digital Vernier.
We wish Franta and his fellow Apprentices all the best as they continue their studies towards full qualification on MPMs Apprenticeship Programme.

On passing his IT exam last week, Tyla was thrilled with MPM’s gift of a digital vernier! As part of their mechanical engineering NVQ level 3 course at Central beds college, both our apprentices are able to strengthen their knowledge and qualifications in other subject areas. The first year of the apprenticeship has been very successful and we look forward to welcoming a new apprentice in the Autumn. Keep up the good work Tyla!

Summer 2017 is set to be bright for us at MPM with the arrival of two new machines. The Doosan Puma GT2600 CNC Lathe and DNM4500 CNC Machining Centre will be integral to our new agile machining cell. The cell will not only be used to greatly increase our machining capacity but also to be the base for the development of our apprentices. The two apprentices’ progress has been extremely impressive, both on the shop floor and at college, and they will soon be able to develop their skills using the latest state of the art technology under the guidance of our experienced CNC team. More news is to follow in the coming months.

We are pleased to announce that we have started a new and exciting Apprenticeship scheme. Two Apprentices have been welcomed to our team, both are very eager to learn and hone their skills in becoming CNC machinists under the guidance of our Manufacturing Manager. We have formed a partnership with Central Beds College in Dunstable where the lads have enrolled as part of their day release programme. We fully support the recent push for apprentices in the UK and think it’s a fantastic opportunity for not only young people but employer’s in the manufacturing sector. Further investment on our part is scheduled for next year in the development of our Apprentices and hope it will be a continuous process for many years to come.

The Matchmaker VMC-1020 installed at our production facility in July 2016, is a high speed Vertical Machining Centre with Fanuc Oi-MD control. It uses the very latest 3D digital design techniques to enhance the mechanical structure so as to achieve the optimum cutting performance and was chosen by MPM specifically to achieve the high precision required by our customers. The VMC machines are widely applied in aerospace, medical equipment, telecommunications, oil and gas and other high precision industries, in which MPM specialises, for drilling, tapping and various mould making processes.
